Recommend me some Rush

+1 for Natural Science (from Permanent Waves)

Chain Lightning (from Presto) ... not to be confused with the Steely Dan song of the same title ... was the one that hooked me when I was first introduced to Rush, but then again I'm a pop-rock puss, so some hard-core Rush guys may not concur ...

In The End (from Fly By Night) has always easily been in my top-10 of favorite Rush songs, and perhaps one of the greatest "last song(s) on an album" ever!

The Fountain of Lamenth and The Necromancer from Caress of Steel.

Cinderella Man from Farewell to Kings.

Something for Nothing from 2112.

Digital Man from Subdivisions.

Alien Shore, Animate and Leave that Thing Alone from Counterparts.

Ghost Rider and Sweet Miracle from Vapor Trails.

And Chain Lightning from Presto is worth checking out.

Lots and lots of good, solid choices here, so I think I'll be a bit different. I'll recommend:

- The Body Electric and Kid Gloves (from Grace Under Pressure)
- Open Secrets, Second Nature and High Water (Hold Your Fire)
- The Pass (Presto)
- Bravado (Roll The Bones)
- Everyday Glory (Counterparts)
- Half The World (Test For Echo)

That should get you going!;)

Here are some of my Favorites

I am a huge Rush fan. I am sorry if the list is long. but, these are my favorite Rush songs other than the obvious ones you said you heard.

I'll give you a track from each album, for a nice taste of everything they have to offer.

Rush- Working Man (One of the quintessential Lifeson solos)
Fly by Night- Anthem (The epitome of hard rock Rush)
Caress of Steel- The Necromancer (The best of both world's, progressive and heavy)
2112- Something For Nothing (2112 was a great ALBUM, don't forget the B sides)
All the World's a Stage- What You're Doing (Great live feel, better than the original)
A Farewell to Kings- Xanadu (One of the bass riffs, ever.)
Hemispheres- La Villa Strangiato (My favorite track of all time.)
Permanent Waves- Jacobs Ladder (Mostly instrumental, A great Lifeson track)
Moving Pictures- The Camera Eye (Mostly upbeat, great riff)
Exit...Stage Left- Freewill (I can't suggest La Villa twice, amazing solo section)
Signals- Losing It (Beautiful, one amazing Rush riff and they use it for 15 seconds.)
Grace Under Pressure- Red Lenses (Fun song, turn the volume up on the fade out)
Power Windows- Middletown Dreams (Something about this song just feels right)
Hold Your Fire- Mission (Every instrument is great)
A Show of Hands- Mystic Rhythms (It really grooves live, not as good as in studio)
Presto- Chain Lightning (Complex, sounds great)
Roll the Bones- Where's My Thing? (Poppy instrumental)
Counterparts- Animate (Great track, the first real showing of Geddy's new style)
Test for Echo- Carve Away the Stone (Great vocal track)
Different Stages- Cygnus X-1 (What a wail)
Vapor Trails- Vapor Trail (Great guitar part)
Rush in Rio- Leave That Thing Alone (Instrumental, extra Geddy flair)
R30- Subdivisions (Sounds almost as good as the album version)
Snakes and Arrows- The Main Monkey Business (Guitar solo gives me shivers)
Snakes and Arrows Live- Digital Man (Bass line.)
Clockwork Angels- Caravan (Of the two pre releases, my favorite, great chorus)

As for Feedback...well I don't really care about it.

Cygnus X-1, One Little Victory, Driven, A Farewell to Kings, Cinderella Man, Anthem, Bastille Day, La Villa Strangiato, Entre Nous, Natural Science, Freewill, Red Barchetta, Subdivisions, Mystic Rhythms, Force Ten, The Pass, Ghost of a Chance, Dreamline, Animate, Nobody's Hero, Freeze - Part IV of 'Fear', Out of the Cradle, Far Cry, Workin' Them Angels, Hope, Bravest Face, Faithless, Caravan, BU2B

These are the ones that jumped out when scrolling through my MP3 player. I don't think they"ve made a bad song, but these are some highlights, imo, and have struck me in some fashion. But, I know Rush are touring currently, and instead of only listening to their recorded stuff, GO SEE THEM LIVE! They are absolutely flabbergasting live. I believe I'm seeing them again in late September in ATL, and I would freaking love to see them again. It will be my 2nd time, and I'm absolutely excited about it! Go see them ASAP!
