Recommend some strings please!

Just moving on from Rotos, fancy a change.

I am thinking DRs, either Fat Beam or Hi beam.

Ive read the reviews and the Ed F writeup, just wondering what you guys think.

Will be putting them on a Precision or Jazz....whichever needs them first!

Playing with pick and fingers....mainly upbeat punk and a little funk.

Any ideas?

Also, best flats for a Stingray? TI Flats or EB? I like quite low tension.

If you want low-tension flats for your Stingray, I've heard Thomastik-Infeld Jazz Flats are very low tension. Can't help ya with the DR's. Best of luck!

For your P-bass, DR's flats are very nice. I was able to give their prototypes a real workout.
I'd be going Lo Riders for the Jazz & 'Ray because I like my action pretty low, and I'd want the grind of the rounds. I'd so stainless as I'm one of those "piano tone" guys.
If your thinking of other manufacturers, try Daddario Chromes for your P-bass, and Ken Smith tapered stainless rounds for your Jazz & 'Ray.
I've also been very pleased with Dean Markley Blue Steels and SR2000s.

One string set I fancy for P-basses are S.I.T. Hex wounds... coolest sounding strings I've ever heard.

The hex wound style build up callouses on your fingers quickly too... another benefit.

LaBella Rockin' Steel. They sound similar to Roto Swing 66, but last longer.

I love the DR High beams

super comfort
super tone

They usually last me around 3 months of intense playing.

High Beams sound great for funk. You might give the Black Beauties a try. If you dont mind spending the money they will add a brighter and sharp tone to your slap and last longer plus they look cool. I switched from the high Beams to the BB's and they are definitely brighter and have more punch. DR's are definitely worth the money either way. The only thing is the BB's seem to have a slightly courser feel. Other than that I'm happy with them.
