recommendation for 6 string gig bag?

Any bag will house a 6-string unless you've got a very large, oversized body.

Whats the length of the bass? Number of strings has nothing to do with gigbag sizes. Roadrunners upper end for regular size basses and BC Rich deluxe guitar gig bags for regular length and their deluxe bass gigbags for extra long basses like warlock and tbird are best ones I know of and use. Never seen a body glove brand gigbag and dealers for them list no specs for amount of padding. Id stay away from such unless you can examine one in person since most that dont list padding thickness are very thin in that regard.
Roadrunner bags are ok but won't last more than a year or two. Gator and Levy are about the same as far as durability. Gator's deluxe bag looks really solid though. Here are some of the "top of the line" options:

Both really, really nice. Incase - more 'features'...Reunion Blues - more 'protection'...both are great.
Several of my students have them - very nice bags, something you'll keep for life. Both around $200.00 or less, a cheap price to pay when you consider the cost of your instruments.

I've used UnderCover for well over 17 years. My double bass bag has ample room for two 6 strings. What I like most about these bags over other more modern offerings is that Undercover offers two big and spacious pockets for your gear. I stuff so much gear into mine I'm shocked that they don't rip open sooner.
I've owned 2-3 Undercover double bags over the last 17 years or so. I gig a lot, more than most bass players, and do a fair amount of road work where the bag endures bumpy van rides sitting on top of other gear. The bags have held up remarkably well, enough for me to easily want to buy another one when this one wears out.
