Recommendations for 3-Way Pickup Selector Switch

I'm planning on replacing pickups in one my old basses with passive EMG soapbars (or something similar), and I'd like to re-wire it from V/V/T to master volume/master tone with a 3-way selector switch.

I've got 2 questions:

1) Any recommendations on a good 3-way switch? Do I need to be concerned about any specifications, etc.? I don't want to put something in there that will negatively impact the sound

2) On basses with 2 pickups I've never like the sound of just one pickup at a time - the neck is always too dark, the bridge is always too thin and bright - and I've found that the best tones come from either having both on full or having one full with just a little of the other dialed in. Is it possible to set up a 3-way switch so switching to one pickup or the other provides 100% of that pickup plus some small amount (~10%) of the other pickup?

Thanks,
-Y

@rojo412 would be EXCELLENT at answering a question like this.

He put a couple of mini switches in this for me.

And the pickup selector and series/single/parallel switches on this qre mini toggles as well.

I prefer them over big blade switches by a lot.

Also, another cool option would be a selector knob that matches the other two. PRS does that on guitars a lot.

Yes - had not considered a selector knob - I would like to keep the existing knobs on it and don't particularly like the look of selector switches anyway. Thanks.
If you are now considering a rotary switch, I encourage you to to consider Turnstyle Switch. Mine is a six position switch that gives me full manual control over my three pickups in one position, and the other five positions are alternate voice presets. But they can hook it up any way you want. If you want two or three or all positions to be specific volume settings for multiple pickups, they can do that. Basically, each position is a blank slate, and they can wire each one up however you want.

(I'm an endorsing artist, but I get no direct benefit if you order from them.)
