recommendations for a 6-string bass?

I'm looking into getting a 6-string bass, $1200 max.

I play all degrees of metal primarily, with a little bit of church music on the side.
I'm looking at a Schecter Stiletto Studio 6, but a couple of people have been telling me to look elsewhere.
My primary requirement is a relatively narrow fretboard, as far as 6 stringers go, and 24 frets, active electronics.
Help please?

'btb' is one of the Ibanez model series.

Ibanez does have close string spacing, which will give you the narrower neck that you're asking for. Bass Northwest in Seattle has a used neck-through Ibanez Soundgear 6 string, an SR1206, for sale for $599. It's a pretty bass, and a good one. You could spend a little of the money you save doing any upgrades to the electronics you want (like putting Bartolinis in there or something) ...

The Bass Northwest guys are great to deal with, too.

But other than that ... yeah, Ibanez has close spacing, and Carvin does as well. Sometimes you can find kiler deals on Carvin 6 strings on Ebay!

Good luck,
Liam
