Hey all. I've been playing a Fender P for the last 10 years. I love it for the rock band I'm currently in, and with some knob turning I've been able to get good tones in blues and funk bands over the years as well. In short, it's my go-to bass. Anyway, I recently bought a cheap Warlock, and I've really been thinking about putting some gig money towards installing new pickups. I was thinking of putting in some Fenders, but I've also heard some great things about Seymour Duncans. I've always been a 'factory pickup' guy so this is all new to me. Just looking for some opinions. Can Duncan (or another company) give me a 'better' p-bass sound than the Fenders? Thanks all.

Recommendations for new pickups in a BC Rich

Is this a BC Rich Warlock One bass with the passive P setup?
There are dozens of P bass pickups to choose from; some are very affordable and solid upgrades from stock pups. What kind of tones are you hoping to get out of this bass?

These will sound different from 'factory pickups', if that's what you want.
From what I've read, SPB-1's are vintage and versatile sounding. SPB-2's are overwound and mid focused. QP's are aggressive and emphasize highs/lows. DiMarzio Model P's are around the same price and sound fat and aggressive. There's also (Wilde) Bill Lawrence P-46's. I have a set in my P and I'd say they're well made and balanced sounding; although they can be a tight fit into the cavity. There are other options at this price too, like Fender Original's.
If I had to guess, I'd say try the SPB-1's or SPB-2's if you want something familiar. Model P's or QP's if you want something different.

Thanks everyone. I should have been more specific, it's a passive Warlock with P-bass pickups only. Will look into some of the suggestions offered here. I play with my mids up on my amp, so something more mid-heavy would be right up my alley. Thanks.
The new Geezer Butler Signature p-pups are quite mid-forward apparently. There' a thread about them floating around here somewhere, see if you can dig it up.
I have a 2007/8 Mockingbird Heritage Classic and I installed Nordstrand Fat Stacks and an Aguilar 3-Band preamp. This bass sounds amazing. It's full, fat, smooth and articulate.
