Recording Question

I have a recording related question maybe one of you can help me out with. Im wanting to record two bass tracks at the same time.

I have the DI of my amp head going into my interface and also a Darkglass B7K XLR hooked up to the interface. The problem occurs when I turn on the pedal, it will override the amp head DI and I end up getting 2 dirty channels in my tracks, would like them separated clean/dirty. Am I hooked up wrong or do I need a splitter box?

Bass > pedal > send loop of amp head.

Thanks!

Might it be that you're hooked bass -> Darkglass -> amp? If so the DI out in the amp is affected by the Darkglass tone. The right thing to do (if not possible to split the signal directly out of your bass) is plug in your bass direct to your amp (I asume you use clean settings here), then use the effects send/preamp out to connect to the Darkglass (might require some tone tuning as impedance and gain are not the same as directly out of your bass). Then you can use the DI on the amp AND the DI in the Darkglass without the Darkglass' status interfering in the direct (clean) DI output from your amp.
