Recording two simultaneous tracks on a phone

I am using an Android phone and would like to record two separate tracks at the same time. I can't for the life of me figure it out and I'm starting to think it's not a possibility. I have a two channel audio interface and can record two tracks, but they always end up summing together.
Any recommendations are welcome.

I'm looking to record stereo tracks on the go. If it's not possible on a phone, I can always go with a portable recorder like a zoom, but I was hoping I could do it without buying equipment.

I’m fairly certain it’s not an issue with your hardware.

it comes down to a routing issue or perhaps the ability of your phone/recording software to recognize two distinct inputs.

Routing: See if you are able to route Input 1 to Track 1 and Input 2 to Track 2. If you can, you *should* be able to record two tracks simultaneously.

If not, your phone’s audio drivers might not allow for this or it might be a limitation in your recording software. But check the routing first.

I used bandlab and several other recording apps but none would record stereo.

Nevermind. It recorded for about 30 seconds before I reached a pay wall. Id be okay with paying but it was a monthly subscription and the app was not pleasant to use at all. But now I know it is a possibility.

I don't think it's possible with iphone, You record on iphone with mic, and separate chanells - impossible. Interesting - what soft did offer You kind of a thing???

It's definitely possible to record stereo on Android and iPhone.

Yeah it's just down to finding the right app

Audio evolution is the latest that I've found. I was able to record stereo on the free trial so the paid version should work

Id image fl studio mobile would work as well. It's twice the price of audio evolution but seems much nicer

The Shure app is the best by far. I didn't bother trying it before because I thought it was just for their proprietary mic.

It picked up my interface no problem, records stereo, is from a reputable company, free, has a nice clean interface, and doesn't come with all the bells and whistles phone daws do. It's definitely the one to go with.

Using my iPhone SE (new version), Garage Band, and an old iMic interface with a Lightning adapter, I can record L and R to separate tracks. If I plug my Akai EIE in to the iPhone I can see all 4 channels, meaning I guess I could record live 4-track up to iCloud and pick it up in Garage Band on my Mac...

Glad it worked; an alternative would have been to record it once, copy the recording over a second track and apply different configuration setting for each channel.
