Red mirror pickguard with sonic blue pj bass?

Hello guys!
I have a mustang pj in sonic blue color, but I really struggle to like it esthetically.
Since the thing I dislike the most is the mint pickguard, I plan to change it.

My first thought was into a "sparkle" pickguard but couldn't find one, and may not look as good as I thought.

Of course the tortoise shell also crossed my mind, with some kind of reddish tone (like Kurt Cobain's mustang) but it would be unoriginal (and it's also a little costy).

And then I thought about mirror red pickguard. I don't know if that would look good, or too plain for a mustang.

I can't decide myself, because sonic blue (which kind of looks white sometimes) is a really hard color to deal with in the first place

Any opinions or advices? (Oh and don't hesitate to show me your custom mustang sonic blue, I'll be happy to see it!)

What type of fretboard is it? I think the color of the fretboard is definitely a part of the whole combination.

For a darker fretboard,some type of pearliod would look good: black, white, dark red.
For a maple I'd say go with white or flat black.

A mirrored pickguard sounds like something that would get you preoccupied trying to keep fingerprints, plectrum scratches, and other blemishes off it; to the detriment of your playing. I have a couple basses with shiny monochrome pickguards. Keeping them presentable is a PITA. My bases without monochrome pickguards see more play time for that very reason.

If I'm not wrong it's a dark rosewood fretboard

I like it! It really makes the blue color stands out!
