I would like the option to have the Reddi do it's thing into the amp input too, whether I decide to run it in to the power amp in via effects loop or directly into the input.

Which is why I went the U5 route. You can patch the active filter to the through and on to your amp if you desire. I don't often do that though. On stage, my amp is a monitor, eq'ed and volume set for deconfliction with the FOH. So normally, I have 2 sets of eq - one at my amp/monitor and the other driving the FOH. Often that is one of the active filter settingsnfrom the U5. The sound guys love it...
You would have to take the reddi out into an impedance matching device like a reamp box. It is amlomst inevitable that you'll lose some of the reddi mojo that way.
The U5 is a much more flexible device. Sounds great, though different from the reddi.
