I am so dragging this back on topic right now....

Exactly how harmful can 48v phantom be? If I'm in the strip next to the KM 184 for the acoustic guitar and the guy sends my REDDI 48v for a minute or two before realizing what's the likely outcome? What if he doesn't realize and it's seeing 48v for several hours? As a studio tool that's much less likely but playing live sooner or later some chimp is gonna do it. Is something like a Radial JS-2/3 splitter that can kill the phantom return path to the secondary send(s) worth putting in line to protect against that?

I've yet to have any problem with phantom, and I work at a lot of venues that have boards with universal phantom switches.

I have a nice session this Wednesday and Thursday for a rock band.. Paul Middleton of Bonnie Raitt's crew is engineering at his NEVE room... I know he is going to poop himself when he hears the REDDI.. Ive used it on live gigs that he has done FOH and he really liked it.. so now he gets to hear it in his room..

Been using a REDDI for the last couple years and couldn't be more thrilled. Church. The studio. Live with my band...it's like my bass automatically has more presence! Anyways, seeing as this is a REDDI tread, here's some samples on my band's website.

The first 2 tracks were recorded on an Alleva-Coppolo LG5, and the track called "Saying No" was recorded on my Rob Allen Mouse...all of them straight to the REDDI and then into the board. I can recommend these boxes enough.

That track Breathe Easy demonstrates exactly why I love the REDDI and why I hate other DI's...the heaviness you had on the high notes. You had a very clean tone, and you didn't lose the bottom end at all when you played the high notes, yet you could hear the pitch of every note plain as day. Good stuff, bro!

Thanks! Yeah it's just so effortless to get a fantastic sound. My story in the studio is like everybody else's....You start out REDDIing and Micing your bass cab....then you a/b, and you realize nothing is missing from the DI signal and that the "upgrade" between going with a mic on a cab is negligible or non-existent. I'm so addicted, I'm getting ready to buy the case for it so I can take it out live. That's devotion!

I use the REDDI just about every day. Still finishing up a few songs before we go back to the studio, so I use the home recording setup quite often.
The '76 Jazz into the REDDI sounds so good.
I've tried many preamps and pedals into the REDDI, most sound really good, but when the tracks are A/B'd against the REDDI-only tracks, there is always something not as sweet as the REDDI-only tracks.
That's very exciting because that's the signal the sound guys are going to work with when the gigging starts again.
