I just saw this on the REDDI FaceBook page and wanted to share with Fans,, Seems like FaceBook is really picking up a lot.. Stuff updates there first, They even have Bass Player threads that are pretty cool... Anyway. i wanted to share this here

Has anyone tried using REDDI after an SVT-CL? That is: bass>SVT-CL pre-amp out/ DI out>REDDI. Thoughts?

Hey Fritz, did not see this post till now. I did...once. Sounded great, of course, but I noticed that turning up the master or gain also turned up the volume in the PA, which made it hard for me to use live because I tend to turn up and down as the night progresses.

I'm about to take my REDDI to Australia for the first time. The back of the unit, also pictured in the manual (http://www.adesignsaudio.com/index_htm_files/Reddi-Manual-201307.pdf) gives me the impression I can just change the 1Amp fuse to a .5Amp fuse then it will work with the 230V they use there... is that correct? Can I use my North American IEC cable with an adapter, or should I be using an Australian IEC cable? Is the 110V marker on the REDDI's fuse box door just an indicator of what fuse is in the unit? Thanks!

Some of those AC plugs have a jumper inside the IEC connector .. If you see the window that says 110v? Look at the receptacle area with the 3 prongs Use a small screwdriver to pry it open.. It is a little Draw.. There is a FUSE in there. There is also a small PC board. SLIDE it out to the side and flip it over. IT IS A JUMPER.... Place it so when you look at that little window it says 240 V.. Thats it. Snap it back into the receptacle and you should be good to go. Also you will need to replace the fuse with the one that is properly rated.

For around the price of an adapter you can get an AS/NZS 3112 plug. Take one of the common as dirt C15 to U-ground cables that seem to multiply in your cable drawer, cut the U-ground end off and install the Aussie plug. Problem solved and you don't have to screw around with adapters or find a cable when you get to Oz.

Thanks for not referencing the dopey post I made earlier and deleted, Kirk! Honestly, I had no idea it was that easy to switch voltage in the REDDI. I see "power transformer" and always think "replace for 230v." I apologize for the bum info. I'll learn to do better

Its all good. Im just a mad scientist tinkerer.. i take EVERYTHING apart to see how it works.. Sometimes i have extra parts left over. But it still goes Varoom

That is a nice Shootout.... Nice P bass too...
Personally I like the REDDI an organic fullness in the low mids .. TO me it is like my FAVE Bass or old pair of jeans... Its a part of my thing... I have owned and tried just about every DI out there. And sold them all, But i kept the REDDI..
To each their own. Whatever works for you.. The only way i would need to change is if my Reddi self destructed somehow. But then. .I Have Two of them, so im set for the next 30 years. hahha

I was on a session last week in Austin.. Artist is a major label cat,,Not a kid toying in his basement sort of thing... , The engineer had one of those sonic farm boxes. i brought my REDDI as i always do.. he never heard one before. After a quick bass check He put the sonic farm on the shelf and we used the REDDI, . the sonic farm is too much like the evil twin. very good in its own right. But nowhere near as in your face as the REDDI is. Just my experience

That was an interesting way of doing a shootout. Very seamless editing. Love the Model P, too. REDDI was the happening tone for me, but SVT-DI came off quite well. Apogee, well hey, not as big a fan of it, but it was respectable.

I like that I can hear the difference on my $29 headphones at work. I still prefer the REDDI too.

Well excessive praise made me decide to pick up a magical red box this week. First time out at a casino gig last night. I heard it sounded good out there but wasn't able to get out front to hear. Home testing really sounded great.

Probably wasn't best venue to step off front of stage into crowd...
I generally like a bit of grind in my tone as opposed to totally clean; typically take post DI from ShuttleMax 9.2 driving preamp tube & sound guys say they love it. Hardly ever touch amp after sound check, do any adjustments onboard bass which would go with pre setting anyway.
I have sans amp PBDDI, hear love for VT bass but never tried one. Any opinions on getting low mid harmonic drive back in FOH?

Depending on my particular needs on certain gigs, I alternate between a VT Deluxe and one of those new Ampeg SCR-DI's for getting some mild grind into my DI signal, but a PBDDI would certainly do the job as well.

Well I'm no Jaco...maybe some of the pretty girls would've broken my fall though.

Wish the 3 channel Sansamp had an uneffected out like the standard one. I'm Pretty darn content with what I get going from the Stingray right into the ShuttleMax. Will have to set everything up & find a balance between amp & FOH sound with it in path in front of REDDI.
