Man, you guys with all this pizza talk are making me hungry! Too bad I live in Florida. We have a very good pizzeria just down the street from me called Anthony's, but when I can go to LaGuardia and get a slice that's better than the best slice I've ever had in Fla, I feel quite inferior.
*drools* Only thing I miss about living in Jersey is the pizza. My home made is far superior to anything I can buy, but I miss that crust.
Ya, it's all in the crust. Gotta be. I don't know what makes the crust (or most bread products for that matter) better in the tri-state area, but I used to think it was all a load of horsehockey until I had Amerosa rolls on a cheesesteak and pizza at several places up there. Some of my friends speculate it's the water...I might buy into that...our drinking water in Florida is terrible. You can actually taste the bleach.

That's very cool. I wonder if he'll be demoing the Black REDDI and KGB, too. Not much gives me GAS anymore now that I'm pretty squared away, but have to admit that the Black REDDI could change that.

Okay, so I know the REDDI isn't supposed to work as a preamp and all that. But tonight just for an experiment, I brought mine to band practice. Bass>REDDI>QSC RMX 2450 power amp (just one side)>fEARful 12/6.
Worked great. Gobs of headroom and clarity and got that REDDI sound. The whole band commented how good my tone was tonight.
Next week Imma bring the 12-sub too and run both sides of the power amp. Mmmm...

It's not that it won't work as a preamp. It just won't work in every situation as a preamp. Like I haven't had much luck running it into the effects return of my amps. But it can work, as you found out.
It works great as a preamp. The problem for me came when I tried to split the signal off to FOH. Going through even a high quality Radial mic splitter seemed to suppress a little of the rich harmonic magic of the REDDI.
Heh...funny you mention that...Peter's also got a REDDI V2 he's been working on that is two REDDIs in a rackmount.

I do a lot of practicing at home through headphones as I've got little ones who I don't want to wake. As it relates to the reddi I run it into a small A&H ZED board, which allows me to plug in a set of head phones, an I phone and my I Mac. It also let's me route my bass into the computer via USB not recording quality but good for my purposes. I also can run the bass signal (or mixed with an audio track) to a small PA, studio monitors or my bass amp. It sounds great in all forms.
I say this only because it seems like a bunch of folks want the REDDI sound in a bass rig and the house and I would imagine there are a number of creative ways to do it.
I also have a couple of double bass amps Acoustic Image and EA Doubler which have dedicated mic inputs, I haven't tested it but I'm guessing running the balanced out of the REDDI into the mic input on the amp and then using the amps DI for the house might not be a bad option. Running the thru into the second input could provide a direct A/B as well. I have not done this and don't need to unless anyone wants to know the results.
