OK, upon reflection, I suppose it probably wasn't your intention to talk down to me. You're enthusiastic about a product you really like. I get it. And you're right about the mixing board crack. I'm not in a good mood today and I took it out on you. I apologize. That said, I am 100% happy with what the REDDI does for me and that's all that's important. You are entitled to your opinion, but it's still just an opinion.

If you don't have first-hand experience with both units to share (which is certainly understandable), how about giving your thoughts as to the audio clips, like, which one you prefer and why. This would provide for a much more constructive discussion/debate.

Just commenting on how well your REDDI works, and "look at my REDDI in the studio", and "all the engineers love my REDDI" is great testimonial, but it doesn't really add to the discussion unless you can add what they thought of the P-15, which, I don't guess you can.

I think most of us know the REDDI's reputation and that it used quite extensively. We can all gather that Jimmy and Kirk are fortunate enough to be busy professionals.
Great. I have yet to see either of you give any insight as to what you thought of the audio tracks. To sticky for a friend/endorser?

I'm not selling myself up for any more relentless hard sell by participating in that. Plus I like both Josh and Peter and use products both of them made, and I am already on the record sayingI think they're both killer Di's. That is all.

I'm still hoping to get a P15 at some point. I have the LowEnd TrueVoice (which is for sale BTW ...) which does a good B-15 interpretation. I've tried quite a few things over the years to get that Ampeg-like sound (including the VT which I hated). I've owned my fair share of Ampegs (and still do ...), so I know the "house sound". Nothing has gotten it 100% spot on. Close, but no cigar. I'm very curious to see if the P-15 will be that which would make a nice thing to put in front of the Phil Jones ...

I would also like a pre that is closer to my B-15 so I can use it as a DI for recording. The new Ampeg head has that as an option, but it's not my 60s B-15. I'm sure it sounds great, though.

Heard some clips around the web, all very very good sounding, but some of them seem to have that tone more than others. That mellow attack, sort of sag, then those warrm, woody and harmonically rich mids, and last but not least those deep growly bass...difficult to imagine that tone coming from a DI and not from a complex all tube rig...if the P 15 can do this the Broughton owner should prepare fir a big jump in business...if only he was based in Europe it would be better for me. I cannot stand with the idea of the added cost of shipment, import taxes, dangerous oversea travel, and the loss of customer service from the builder...

What I hear is slightly more compression on the REDDI than the P15. Perhaps this is due to the tube difference and output line matching? I assume the P15 uses the MOSFET for matching line levels on output. The internal shots of the REDDI looks to use an output transformer.

Both units sound very good to me. I guess it's a matter of personal preference and/or what sound differences one is going for (although it more subtle than significant).

I played through an Ampeg B-something that was owned by the college I attended. This was back in 1979 or so. That's a heck of a long time, but I would guess the REDDI sound slightly closer to what I remember. The P15 seems a bit more versatile though.

Well, I have a Superstack on the way. @Noylin has the first one:

Pedal Breeders' BIG Board Club Part II: Biggins'

It's basically a Fender style preamp like an F2B. Josh used a similar power design as the PowerStack so that it runs at 9v but internally, it is a true high voltage preamp.

The second project still needs to finalized, but it's going to be a Canadian style preamp :)

The third project is something custom I want him to make, rackmount form. I have not pulled the trigger yet, but I hope to in the next few weeks :)
