I was in session today for Dangerous guitars at Modern Electric Studio in Dallas today. I used my REDDI and couldn't decide if we were going to use the SVT or the B-18 mic'd up. I eventually went with the SVT . The Reddi and SVT combined may have been the best Monitor mix that i have ever had in decades. Very Dynamic for the type pf songs we did..
Billy Sheehan came in a day early. he is doing some tracks on the record too. He wound up using my REDDI in the control room with his two pedals and his Yamaha. He sounded like HIM. Real greta hang too. He uses a BAE "Neve Clone" at his home studio. but he dug the REDDI.

This producer always asks me to bring my REDDI to the gig.
Next week I'm in studio with Gus G from OZZYs band.. I'll be using the same DI and Mic'd amp setup.
Sharing some photos from today.. Film crew took a ton, im gonna see what i can get from them

Mic'd the ampegs and ran the REDDI. These are for JimmyM.. I know he will like these pics.. It was a hard choice. They both sounded great in their own way..
They ran into an OLD MCI Blackface console. .. Talk about PHAT!!!

I've spent so many years chasing lighter, more portable amplification at a pretty expensive price. At the end of the day this stuff is still the measuring stick and is very affordable on the used market...

At the beginning of this thread my feet were cemented in that I loved my Reddi, I inquired about getting a P15 for the versatility and ended up falling in love with Monique!

You guys seen the new Radial? Fire Fly or something like that. Its yellow. Anyhow its got a tube and a HPF but it also has this "drag" knob that has a cool function. Anyhow I figured Radial would drop something like this soon.

Unless it's a v2 or a new revision, that thing has been available for a long time. I was always intrigued but never pulled the trigger.

Yeah. my REDDI is not going anywhere. The engineer loved it . the producer loved it . Nothing can replace what a real amp does though.. Thats why i loved the SVT miced cab and REDDI combination.
I finished my stuff on this record yesterday. Billy Sheehan is in today doing his thing. Using my REDDI. He usually uses a BAE Neve Clone but he has my REDDI today. I have to go get it later on.. Im doing a Musical Play with Becky Hobbs the hit writer and Duane Sciacqua( paul mccartney, glenn frey and Joe walsh..) He knows tone. He told me to bring my REDDI too.
I'm not bragging. I'm sharing with you what happens on my world and working with some folks that have reached some pretty high plateaus in their lives. It really wonderful , the positive energy they all have in common.. And they turn out to be less stuck up than the guys that i play club gigs with. Its been like that for decades.

I start a new Rock record with Gus G from OZZYs band on tuesday.. Producer demanded i bring my REDDI. They have the SVT setup already..
I actually liked the AKG 414 on the SVT over the RE20.. the RE20 worded better on the B15..

Yeah my REDDI isn't going anywhere either. Really it's not going to leave the house tonight. But the P-15 rides.
This is only because sound engineers have most recently been preferring the P-15 over the REDDI. Got to love it when a sound guy really pays that much attention to the bass.

I'm not sure about stepping into this mess, but isn't the REDDI a DI and the P15 a Preamp?
Is it really a fair/legit comparison? P15 has tone controls, right?
That and the fact that one person can't say "X" sounds better and if you don't think so you're wrong.
You know what they say about opinions. I mean it's fine to discuss differences in tone or PvJ or whatever, but in the end, it's all personal opinion.

I'm guessing it could also depend on the application. I exclusively use mine as a DI.
There has been times when a screwdriver worked better than an oil filter wrench to remove an oil filter.

..I would assume if the KNOBS were set flat (p-15),then I would think it would be like the REDDI..?..Im just assuming though...
