I will let @Azure Skies answer this, but the transformer in there is described as a Vacuum Tube Output Transformer by Cinemag.

It is a real transformer, which was the question I think.

  2. IIRC, no. I stand to be corrected but the transformer doesn't load the tube like it does in the REDDI. I think the P15 uses a FET buffer between the tube and the transformer. I think the transformer is a parafeed type which means it is capacitor coupled like the Noble or Monique.

I'm pretty sure this is the case with the Noble. It's not physically big enough to have a true OT unless it has a push-pull output stage.

It's not a true OT in the sense of how I defined that. Its primary winding is not the load for the tube gain stage and I don't think it loads the FET either. Different style of circuit than the REDDI. Note, I am not saying that parafeed outputs are inherently inferior to true OTs at all. They're just different ways to couple a tube to the outside world.

Well I've been getting this new comparo set up today and I have to say I'm very surprised at some of the results. Good things coming!

I also have a free prize for whoever gets the riddle right.

Noble is in the mail. Should have this up by late next week. What I'll probably do is just put it all in this thread instead of starting a new one. Or maybe just start a new thread. Either way I'm gonna post the clips up and it will be a blind comparison again at first, where I will just ask "Which one do YOU like best". Then I will reveal which one is which.
Then I will probably sell them all!:D

Yeah I think I'll just start up an entirely new thread. Much less confusion.

A new thread is wrong. I want it in this thread! :spit:

Oh...Sorry. Was just getting ready for all the grumbling and arguing that's sure to follow when the new clips come out. :roflmao:

I have some Fat Beams I'll donate to the cause so they all don't sound like detritus. (Got that one from @basses55).

Yes for a band name, it's unfortunately taken, as is deathritus. But deathreekus is available.

Anyone wanting it should move fast. All the good names are being snapped up.
