Last night (Oct. 26): Let me begin by stipulating that the pics are, to be charitable, lousy. We were at our new favorite venue, a little joint in a strip mall in South Windsor CT called "The Pub." We're very creative with dive bar names around here. For whatever reason, we were here about five times this year (New Year's Eve will be six). I'm showing the lousy pictures because something happened that I've never seen before, ever, anywhere: For Halloween, the owners and the staff all put on big, curly red wigs. Yes, they dressed to look like our BL. On the first song, they all ran out from the kitchen and behind the bar. Total surprise. Jane was so freaked out (a rare event for her) she said for a moment she couldn't sing.

Then, after more than a few vodkas, the owners came out and danced. They were very funny (and very brave, if you ask me).

I'm really not into posing for pictures, but I feel obliged to @dbase to show a food shot. Loaded Nachos. I did my best to unload them. No, I don't know who the guy with the pumpkin shirt was.

Dr. B, as the KFC Colonel, with the Pope.

Our new guitarist, Jimmy A, earning his keep. He was pretty spectacular last night. Doing a little Hendrix move while we're out on the dance floor for "LaGrange."

Another posed picture. We were all Steampunk themed.

Oh, you want to see a band pic? Lotsa hats.

And, for all who saw my post in "Everyone's drunk now..." post, the moment you've been waiting for: Drummy singing Monster Mash. Every year, he gets to sing two songs: Monster Mash at Halloween, and Run Run Rudolph at Christmas. Otherwise, he does not sing with the band. At all. I think he's great. That's our sound guy, Bill filling in on drums, um, somewhat less that rehearsed.:D

I hope all of you with Halloween gigs have fun!

We really are a bunch of goofballs. I think people come to see us for Jane, but also just to watch us have a really good time doing what we're doing. I don't have any other explanation for it.

Thanks for the half eaten nachos .. better than nothing I supposed... you ha a good crowd. everybody had fun. ;)

Hi Dave!

And The Redhead Nation occupies another territory! That's really fabulous that the owner and staff got involved in the coo. Too much fun!

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

I was floored. It happened so fast, all of a sudden they were there, about twice as many as the photo I have shows. And you know, this is what I mean by getting club owners to love you. Not that I ever expect to see this incident repeated. As I often say, we are not doing anything that someone else has not done before, or better. We're just having a real good time. Apparently, there are still some people who will pay to see that.

That there is the secret to success, I reckon.
There's nothing worse than going out for a fun night and watching a band who feel entitled to your attention, praise and applause, but don't do a damn thing to earn it.
You guys clearly enjoy yourselves, and love what you do.
That's worth a lot.

Too much fun Dave. You're livin' the stinky little bar band dream. Oh that I was closer to join Redhead nation in the revelry. :)

That was awesome. I love Drummy. Great backing vocals too. My Halloween season feels complete :)
