redoing an aria j bass

Every time I walk into the studio I do all my work in there's is a sad looking aria STB J bass with its wiring all messed up and its volume pots missing. and i always pick it up and play around with it and just the other day the guys who owns the studio told me it was mine. so I thought since I already have a beautiful fret-less fender sunburst J bass I wanted to sand this one down and do something new and cool art wise with it and i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions

I've always liked classic looking instruments. I'd just clean it up and put bartolinis or dimarzios and the electronics. Maybe upgrade the hardware if its rusted or non functioning.

An idea I've had before is woodburning type art on a natural finish.
