Redstar Cabinets

It may be his (or her) first post, but it's not ours. And to my knowledge, we don't post adverts on these forums, nor do we ask our customers to. In fact, we never *ask* our customers to post reviews here or on any other forum, ever. If they do/don't want to post about our products on a forum that's their business, not ours.

And yes, we are aware that there is a section for dealers, although this poster may not, but they obviously do now.

If anyone has any concerns about this sort of thing please feel free to PM us and we'll take care of it.

Those are nice looking cabs. By that I mean they definitely appear to be well built, with well thought out features and details. I like the handle placement and the rails on the back where one might need them. They look well thought out, even though the single 15 looks like it might be a bit small of a box.

dealbreaker and chaotick - I think you have it all wrong. Actually, this was my first post with the user name, kimokeo. I have posted on TB many times before. I was not advertising for Redstar, nor am I affiliated with them in any way. I recently purchased one of their cabinets and found it to be as I described in the thread. I was simply passing along information that if anyone is looking for a great cabinet, you might want to consider a Redstar. A misunderstanding on your part, and in all honesty, taken out of context.

What context? Seriously, I'm asking you to tell us-- what context?

Another thing-- it is against TB rules to have more than one user account. I'm curious what bad feedback or other reason you had for making a new account.

Thirdly, you did not really give us any information at all. You just made a simple, no-context, no background, assertion that they are good. Why should anyone take that seriously? That might be a rhetorical question, but perhaps in all seriousness you can tell us why you think anyone should take such a simplistic statement from an unknown individual as some kind of useful advice.

Frankly Redstar deserves better. If you want to help them, give a real review with some real information and some real background on the basis for your opinions.

As I simply stated, I was offering information to other users of the forum. Not that I have to explain any of this to you, but, by being taken out of context, I was referring to the fact that other members assumed I was working for Redstar. Obviously, that is not the case. Now, as for your first, second, and thrid crap; I am a professional player with 35 years experience. I am quite sure I have played bigger gigs than you, as well as, play studio sessions on a weekly basis. Again, bongo, I was not trying to help Redstar. You, like the other guys, are taking things the wrong way.

Understood. No offense meant. However, there was no context to take it out of....

No problem, dealbreaker. I assumed by the comments the assumption was I was working for Redstar, which is why I made the comment that my thread was taken out of context. Just trying to pass along information other members may find useful, that's all.

Every once in a while, they list a cabinet or two on the local Craigslist here in Houston, they say they have a storage facility where you can pick it up, but they won't let you try it out, however they say in there ad, that you have 7 days to try it out ...or get your money back ...but I have not seen the cabinets in the local music retailers that I frequent , here in Houston .... $2200 for and 8x10?, I wonder what Eminence drivers they are using?

Friend, you have it wrong. He's asking for CONTEXT for your judgment of the cab. Where does it perform well, what kind of music, setting, size of stage, with what amp, with what bass, etc. You don't give any real information about why the cab is any good. Really we don't care whether you've played bigger shows than anyone else or do regular studio sessions. It isn't some kind of contest, but you haven't given any kind of factual anything in your glowing review. What kind of tone profile does the cab do well with, does it sound modern, old school, is it flat, mid scooped, is it heavy in the lows, or shy there? Does it cut through on a live stage? You really haven't provided any kind of useful information.

Also, fill in your profile. It gives useful information for us to see who you are and what your setup is and such.

That may have been a poor choice of paragraph content by the OP, but let's get past that.

They LOOK like solidly constructed units that APPEAR to be have time tested proven designs.

Anybody that has actually played one should chime in, because we all would like to know how they sound.

Cheers!
