Refinishing a Nash PB-63

I think it looks awesome. If you're not feeling it, though, I'd trade it away for something you'll like, or just sell it outright. You'll tank the value if you refinish it, since the relic is part of the reason many people buy a Nash.

Nash basses to me are very underrated regardless what folks say about them being parts basses. Whatever Bill does to the basses IMO is magic. OP if you love the tone you get out of it, keep it and don't mess with the cosmetics . Trust me the grass is never greener on the otherside especially when you've have found the fit and tone you desire . I love my Nash basses and find them just as tone worthy as any Fender Custom shop I've ever played. I'm picking up a new pb63 light relic next week with lollars to go with my jb63. They kill !

Mark last Monday the 21st on your calendar. Play the bass for 3 months. Come back to this thread and talk to us about your feelings then. I guarantee you won't feel the same as you do now. Right now you're going through the buyers remorse phase. I'll bet 3 months from now you'll say "what was I thinking, I love this bass" and I'll bet you will like just the way it is right now. That's one sweet looking bass and the relic on it isn't over the top at all. It actually looks pretty authentic for the intended age and wear. I find it takes me anywhere a couple weeks minimum to a couple months or more to make a definitive decision on a new instrument. Give it time, I'd bet some folding money it will grow on you. Go on mark the calendar and then come back. I can't wait to hear what you think then. See you on the 21st of January!

BSD has started really changing their focus - used to be piles of Foderas and now it's more Allevas and Nashes. I've played a few Allevas and, like the Nash's, I just don't get the buzz. Nice - but not "that kinda money" nice. Not to me, at least. A lot more guitars now. I guess they have to diversify.

Still great guys to deal with, however. I was up there last week.

They still have the Foderas as I understand , just not hanging on the wall since the no intent wankers starting scratching them all to hell.

And same opinion for me with the Allevas. Some are meh, and some are out of this world. Mine screamed to me from the Web posting like the Nash and it's the #1

I'm with brianrost, I'd sand down the body and refine with rattle can clear coat, it's not that difficult and it will look great.
