Refretting costs

Has anyone here ever had a bass refretted? And if so what's it cost roughly? It would be for a '96 Ibanez SR800 (24 frets). Would it cost more than the bass is worth??

Around here a complete refret would run you about $350. Are you sure you need a refret? What about a fret dress?

To be honest I really have no idea!!! I just bought the bass yesterday and the action was really high. So I tried to adjust it myself (after watching a you tube video) Got it nice and low but there's a wicked buzz at the third fret on the A string. I'd blame it on my attempt at a do it your self adjustment but it's only that one fret on that one string?
