Regretting selling my Squier Matt Freeman P

I'm a proud owner of a MF. I don't have much experience with other P basses, but this sound and feels spectacular. Last year I was looking for another one to use with another tunning, but it was out of stock, so I finally bought a Squier Classic Vibe 70's. All the comments I read about it said it was exactly like a Matt Freeman, but with the black inlays. Well...I don't like it. The neck is thinner, the feel is very different, the bass is lighter. And the most important thing, I can't make it sound like the MF. I need it to sound like that, because I need to change the bass in the middle of a show, and I need it to sound good with the setting of my pedals and my amp, but it's impossible. I changed the pickups for a Seymour duncan Quarter Pounders, but nothing (the stock pickups didn't sound like the MF). I use the same brand of strings, but just a little heavier gauge, and the sound is very different. Maybe it's the pickups, maybe the bass in general...I don't know. But it's not like the MF. It lacks its tone and its feel...
No regrets. All of the ones I've sold paved the path to the ones I have, which are my favorites. 
I definitely understand how you feel.
Sold my Czech Spector Euro5lx that I got for $300 at a pawn shop. Soldnit to a friend after it wasn't getting much use - still think about it at least once a week.
That said: I have a couple of Matt Freeman's, I try to buy them whenever I see one for sale as it's currently my favorite bass

Nothing bothered me, at the time I wanted to get a Yamaha bb. I am happy with that purchase, but kicking myself for the means by which I paid for it, haha. I did sell the MF for a good price, so reap what you sow and all that.
Those basses are different enough that I can see why you would want to own both .
Keep searching. One will turn up . Keep the money available so that you can grab it when it does. Happy searching !!
I was fortunate enough to pick this T40 up from the original owner about 10 years ago and will never let it go.
I was gassing for a truly righteous P and after trying many variants, I came across the MF while researching the then newly released Fender Bassman Pro lineup. I was absolutely blown away that Squier "remade" the 70's P that was instrumental in laying down some of the most influential bass lines of my formative years. And it played like butter. For easily half of what it should have cost. This bass let's me sound like why I love playing bass. And the rig helps a bit.
Both set ups look awesome, that White Peavey amp is too cool.
although I was never a skater, the music was the best. I am an old guy and my wife makes fun of me for still liking the music of my childhood. Love NOFX, Bad Religion, Pennywise, Lagwagon, Strung out.....etc
Can't play with a pick to save my life, but love the bass sounds all these guys were getting with a P bass and a pick.

Here's mine, got it about a year and a half ago of the local Craigslist for $175. Some of the best money I've spent on equipment. I'd like to try out an Eva Gardner model too (same as the MF but with a Jazz neck) but they seem to be even more rare. Had two original 70's P's back in the day, a '72 and later a '74. Playing-wise I wouldn't trade this one even across to get one of those two back.
I'll flick them a message, but I reckon the shipping will be exxy.
That could be an issue but thought I'd let you know where at least one can be found.
I've done some upgrading on mine with a Bill Lawrence/Wilde P46 pickup, a Babicz FCH Bridge, and a set of La Bella DTF Flats. It gets a lot of love and playing time these days and I would not part with it period. Best PBass I've ever owned.
I had a Moniker Dixie bass that was the best playing bass that was ever in my hands. Sold it when my wife bought me a Jazz Elite for xmas. Ended up returning that and was out my Dixie.
