REGULAR BASS STRINGS?!?

What was on it before? Maybe that is what the tech thought was irregular?

Press down fairly hard on your E string just past the saddle (towards the pickup).

That might help. Sometimes the E doesn't bend sharply enough by itself, and your pushing down will help make a tighter bend across the saddle, and it might sound better.

Thats what I was wondering to. Perhaps it had the furry elixers, or tapewound, or somesuch on it. Instead of regular naked roundwound steel or nickel.
