"Regular" Boss pedals vs. "Waza Craft"

I think they're largely a scam. Twice the price or more for a switch or some settings options that give you a variation on the existing sound of the pedal. I've never heard a Waza that objectively betters the tone of a pedal enough to justify the price.

The TU-3 Waza has to be the biggest ripoff of all.

Id have to say it would depend on the pedal. I absolutely love the sound and simplicity of my CE2W. I preferred that over the walrus audio Julia, which is no slouch! I was fortune to get my Waza at a discount so the prices were very similar.

I don’t know if all the waza series pedals are worth it, and I have a hard time justifying the price tag for some. A DS1? Probably not, the fuzz? Maybe since there are more “settings” but again I’d have to have money burning a hole in my pocket for that to happen.

Side note. I’m trying out an all Boss board other than my two notes bass revolt. For odd reasons I won’t get into, so I’ve been down this waza research tunnel for a little bit

CE-2w is a killer. Has that CE-1 mode. Bullet proof. It's the only other chorus beside my old TC SCF that I ever get compliments on.

I have no experience with other waza, but that one? One of the best chorus pedals.

I purchased an HM-2 Waza craft pedal, because I wanted to try that circuit for the first time. The one I found, used, was notably less expensive than the vintage originals at the time. It has a custom switch that invokes more low end. So, I’m happy with my choice.

I guess this can be a good argument in countries with weak consumer laws like the US. In countries with stronger consumer laws, the warranty would be 5 years, or close to 5 years for the standard Boss models too, so no real difference.

Here, in the EU the standard warranty, by law on all consumer goods is 2 years, excluding cars that are 5 years or 100 000 km (whatever happens first). Standard Boss pedals, like any other brand, come with 2 years warranty. I have an old (from the 90's) Boss PQ-3B that says 5 years warranty on the box, but everything new is just 2 years.

I would only be interested in a BF2 Waza Flanger, but if they keep it analog, lower the noise and do like in the BF3, add the mode knob but analog, RES and Manual stacked and a Mix or Hpf (similar to the Anadime Providence, X-over type) stacked with the Depth for example. I would buy that waza pedal.
