Regular Jams?

i was just wondering how often other people jam, if they have constant people they jam with, how often and their preferences.
for me i jam with the same guitarist every week during school and for the past two weeks the same two drummers. we usually start off with a Zeppelin riff then extend upon that but we sometimes just do straight improv blues jams.
you?

I used to be in a band that hosted a blues jam once per week for a couple years. As the bass player, I played with a lot of different guitar players and drummers. It was a great experience, and my playing improved considerably from the experience.

there's tons of people to jam with in college( i go to a music college) brings a lot of styles into play, i have two regular drumers i like to jam with but its more fun when we get a brass instrument in with us or something that isnt a guitar

Yea, jamming regularly is a great way to get to know what the other members of the band are able to do. You can see how you can fit into the music with them. They can do the same with you.
It's great afterwards if the rest of the band ask you to play a certain part again, jam it more and then turn it into a song. Perfection.

Les has a way with words, lol.
