Rehearsal Hosts?

I host rehearsals here; we often provide some minor refreshments, not usually snacks but sparkling water, beer, etc. Someone else will always bring beer or wine.

I greatly appreciate the convenience of having rehearsal in my home. But I also do know that there's a real value to them, because if I leave the band they will still have to travel to a rehearsal space that will also likely need to be paid for. There's no one else in the band set up and/or willing to host. So I do get that it's very convenient to me, but they're still fortunate that I'm able to host them with a full PA and equipment that was not cheap and that they did not pay for. And I'm happy to do it. Right now it's a win for all of us, and that's all that matters.
Which reminds me, I should bring my band leader some of those chocolate marshmallow puffs IKEA sells.

Yep.

I quit one band when the host started charging us to rehearse ($10 each, I think, about 10 years ago). What was galling is that he was double dipping. He had a basement apartment where an international student was living. He kicked the student out for a few hours each week. And of course there was drama every week around what day and what time all this would occur. I pulled the plug after only a couple of weeks of that.

I just don’t get people who charge band members for rehearsing at their place. Money grubbing @#$&!
