Rehearsal room PA

I'mlooking for decent but fairly inexpensive way to set up a PA in our rehearsal room. Both bass and guitar are running off practice amps. The drums are too loud already so we're not going to mic him up. Basically it's for vocals only and/or to run some vocal and/or drum tracks too while we're rehearsing. I'm a complete newbie when it comes to this kind of stuff.

Any recommendations?

I use a Carvin AG100D for this - picked it up for $150.00. Only three channels, but it's usually enough. If not we do what was suggested above, use the monitors only. Last night we were running vox, bass and keys through that thing. Had a monitor running out of it as an extra speaker, it kept up with the drums and guitars just fine.

It depends how much you want to spend Best thing would be a cca 5-10 channel mixer (always have a extra input, you never know when you will need it) and a pair of monitors. I use Yamaha mixer (don't know exactly which one) and 2 LD Systems 350w active speakers. I will never need anything else for rehearsing

My drummer has a large kit and he is a brute. I was able to quiet him down by mic'ing ALL his drums. He hears himself in the monitors and hits more appropriately. Not saying it will work for you, but it did work for me.
