RELATIONSHIPS SUCK

How do you know how old I am?! Probably in my profile. :p And close! She just turned 22, but she has the attitude: "I'm old enough to drink, I enjoy going out and having a drink".

She's saying that she wants to be able to go out and have fun and do whatever she wants, aka break up. But she said it would be better if we 'split up for now' because she doesn't think we can fix it. I just don't understand how they love you one week, and not the next. :o

i've never met a girl who hasn't done this. i'm surprised yours didnt do it as soon as she hit 21

i bet she used the line "i feel like i'm missing out on my life"

One of the greatest pieces of relationship advice I ever got was that they're all practice. We can learn and grow from them if we see them as such, or become bitter, as many do. I always did the former, and after 30 years of practice, with many different woman, I'm a happily married man in a great relationship with an awesome gal. Hang in there. Relationships do suck sometimes, but we heal, and we move on.

Here here!

I actually started looking at relationships this way about a year ago (part of my whole not taking them too seriously thing) and it has been working out great. I actually walk away from relationships much happier than I used to because of it, and I tend to learn at least one or two new things about myself and about what I want/need from life.

Relationship = a really long one night stand where people stay together because they find it convenient to be around each other.

At 22, you shouldn't even HAVE a girlfriend, for God's sake!

Play the field. Have FRIENDS. Meet people. Do NOT get serious. Be safe, and be smart. The more you get the heart broken, the tougher it will be when it heals. LIVE for God's sake! LIVE!

This. Consider this an opportunity to explore all the ladies you can. You should be tapping everything that will let you (make sure you're safe and wear a jimmy though). Quantity over quality. Enjoy.

No. Just seen that on a T-shirt about twenty years ago. OP needs to move on, seriously. Like everyone is saying there's more women out there. Just remember this... all of them are the same but they're all different.

I would guess that this chick is about your age.

If you say so. Most of my relationships started out as friendships that, for whatever set of circumstances, turned into something more after a couple years. Funny how you never plan that to happen and yet it does haha.

I'd like to think its more but we both have reasons for being there and so far I have yet to see a lot more. That doesn't mean companionship isn't there, it just means....well it's one of those parts that are expected to develop in it all.

Personally I found it easier just to start fresh than to try and make one thing into another thing.
