Relearn All Scales & Patterns For BEAD ?

I just made my guitar playing brother tune to B. now I play BEAD instead of standard 5 or 4, and we don't think about it. Nice n heavy. I say gimme an "E" and he plays the "A" a string and I say "NO, an E" and he says "That's B".

I say "B is the new E". G strings are for girls. And Michael Manthing.

Perhaps my terminology is incorrect, By "Drop D 1/2 step" I am referring to dropping them all to Eb-Ab-Db-Gb as opposed to "Drop D" DADG.

I have found, in practice, people who tune down half a step just ignore the change. i.e. They will yell out "this song is in G". They will then play first string, third fret even though it is now technically Gb. So I have found that tuning down makes no difference except to the sound and a bit to the feel of the bass.

By the way, I like it when guitars tune down 1/2 a step. I think flat keys sound better and you can never get a guitar player to play in flat keys in standard tuning YMMV.
