Two grand for a poorly modded, 73 P-Bass with an equally badly stripped finish that looks like someone gave up on towards the end in trying to fight through the nearly indestructible polyurethane finish that Fender used back then? I don't think so. It's been reduced to players value only, and it would be a fool imo who would pay even half of what the seller thinks this thing is worth. You can still get good 70's P-Basses for well under 2 g's! At least I got a good belly laugh on a monday morning reading this post.

Yes, parts of it are damned near ash! Or at least charcoal.

Considering how small but dark the burns on the back are, I suspect that a propane torch was used to remove some of the finish. I've seen this before.
