Relocating to Denmark?

Thanks for the updated answers folks.

I am confused about housing. I searched the Copenhagen craigslist, and it seems like a nice two bedroom apartment can be had for around $1,000USD per month. I watched an episode of House Hunters International last night, and they were searching for a three bedroom apartment/condo/house. The realtor told them finding something in their budget, $3,300USD per month, would be difficult.

I would also like to know about the region as far as actual houses. I have never lived in an apartment or condo in my life, so that idea also makes me nervous.

How do you feel about that? Where's the job?

I was really disappointed, but I understand the business decision. Why would they pay to move my family across the world when someone local is qualified? I may be good at my job, but it's not like I'm the only guy in the world who can do it.

I declined the offer. The job is in Minneapolis. I'm sure it's a nice area, but not on the list of places the wife and I are interested in moving to.

Gotcha. It's still pretty cool that they offered you a gig, imo. it means something. They could of just turned you down.

Any other jobs on your radar?

True, that's a good point I've forgotten in my disappointment. Thanks for the reminder.

Yes, I am flying to Austin, Texas on Sunday. Dinner with the owner and his wife Sunday night, meet the employees Monday and work with them a little bit, dinner and negotiations Monday night, and hopefully fly home with a contact offer in hand Tuesday morning.

Texas..... you like the heat, Mike?

Maybe I'm seasoned from living in western NY for 46 years, heat and I do not get along well..... although salt free hot rods would be kinda nice for a change.

Sounds good to me. How far are you from Potsdam? How far are you from Canada? Any stores nearby that sell wine gums?

-Mike

Potsdam is 4 1/2 hours away, Canada is not quite 90 minutes and I have no clue what wine gums are. I can tell you that the finger Lakes region of NY (which is 20 miles south of me) is wine country.

I'd tell you to move here, just ask Relic how nice it is (he was here on vacation 8 months ago). But... you'd have to learn French to really enjoy it.

I started learning Danish in preparing for the move to Denmark. Canada seems kind of weird though. I'm not sure I'd like to live there. The day trips for wine gums are enough for me.
