Geez, I must be as old as the Geico caveman, I knew music by every artist he quoted. One hell of a live act, one hell of a picker.
There's a video on You Tuba, too. If you don't watch the video you might not catch one gag: as he's going through all the "Kings", he does a schtick on Don King, but it's a sight-only-gag.

He's still around and still pickin' like the badass he is. If you're of a Tele state of mind you can join a workshop he does through Jorma Kaukonen's Fur Peace Ranch.
I had the pleasure of doing sound for both bands in the 80s and 90s; both are basically one guy (George Frayne and Ray Benson, respectively) and a bunch of really good side men. Very professional acts to work with, and very entertaining shows.
My band opened for Commander Cody and Bill was so nice and gracious with his time . After the show and the audience went home he sat in the edge of the stage and talked guitars for an hour.
The Commander Cody station on Pandora is tough to beat for road trip music. That style has seems to have been lost.

I live about 15 miles from "Grapevine Hill" and pretty regularly go up it.

Great playing. And I keep on getting more and more impressed at how a simple Telecaster guitar can cover just about all musical genres.
