Double Bass Remic Red, Grace Felix, MAS 1/8

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to record with trumpeter Mike Kaupa and Pianist Tom George.

The session was held at the Tuhill Auditorium on the University of Missouri campus. Since we were

performing in the space, I needed to use amplification. The Remic Red, Grace Felix, MAS 1/8 sounded

and felt incredible.

I used this same exact setup on a gig with a loaner bass a few weeks ago. Couldn’t ask for anything better.

That won’t be possible until the recording is edited and mastered Rick. Candelwood Digital did the recording when it’s released perhaps I can do that.

Well, not necessarily now that I know it sounds so incredible. Just curious, do you play Doublebass? I don’t see any listed in your profile.

Well, I guess I should change that. I'm 66, started on piano at 5, upright at 10, , electric at 13.
I defretted my first early 60s Jazz in shop at 15. (I know, don't flame, it was the 60's)
I couldn't find a current photo, this is a pic off my business card, circa 2008.
BOT, I look forward to hearing the recording.

Cool, when I get them, you’ll hear them, just not sure how soon that will be. Our path to Double Bass is pretty similar. Piano 4-6 grade. Didn’t love those yearly recitals. Started DB in Junior High School. Mostly because it got me out of taking general music classes.drool Continued playing in High School, so my afternoons were spent in the music room and it got me out of Study Hall in the mornings. Couldn’t afford a Electric Bass until 1969.
