Get some acetone, mix with equal parts WD-40, Goo-Gone and Citri-Strip, apply the mixture with a pressure washer and ignite. Stickers will flake right off.

removing my stickers from the bass...

My favorite: Motzenbocker's Lift-Off, available at ACE Hardware. Best stuff in the world.
I would NOT use any substance containing:
Alcohol
Strippers of any kind
Acetone
Paint thinner
Nail polish remover
ALL of these will soften, damage or outright remove various kinds of finishes. You may or may not have those finishes on your bass. The first three are safe for darn near anything, except Goo-Gone will remove latex paint. However, musical instruments are not painted with latex finishes.

I've used zippo lighter fluid with a cotton ball on sticker residue before. Stuff comes off with almost no effort. I would guess most any solvent would do the same (wd40, acetone, mineral spirits, etc).
If it was mine, I'd remove the stickers as much as I could with my fingers(peel them off) after warming them with a hairdryer(as suggeted earlier in this thread). Use the low power setting. Then take a soft cotton rag and some naphtha and rub it until the gummy residue is gone. The naphtha will not harm the finish.
I used White Spirit to remove sticker glue from my Squier P-bass. Somehow it didn't affect the finish 
DO NOT use acetone on your bass finish, unless you want to
remove it. Acetone dissolves plastic and a whole bunch of other things. Also it is absorbed immediately through your skin and is highly TOXIC. you have to use RUBBER gloves for protection.
Listen to your fellow TBers who suggested Goo-Gone. or old fashioned lighter fluid. Either will do a great job.
If you have "tan lines" when you're done you may just need to polish off the surface with some auto polish compound. Depends on the color as to effectiveness.

Yes acetone will dissolve a lot of finishes but modern poly finishes are practically impervious to it. Even though it's not best to bathe your hands in it it's not like messing with MEK or laquer thinner. Acetone is an organic compound that the human body produces in small amounts and is generally recognized to have low acute and chronic toxicity if ingested and/or inhaled. So yes, be careful with it but there's no need to go "cold-war nuclear holocaust" over it.
