i just got a pre-fender swr henry 8x8. haven't giged with it yet, but so far it rocks. a bit heavy, but a nice alternative to an 8x10.
the hank has a totally unexpected sound. the cab is actually very vintage sounding and not modern, you would think it'd be hi-fi considering its 8" speakers and made by SWR.
the only thing i hate is the tweeter. it is hate at first hiss. i don't like tweeters anyway, so question about removing (not replacing) the tweeter/crossover:
when i turn the tweeter down, the tweeter is technically off, but still all the frequencies above 5k are not going to the 8" speakers, correct?
if so. is there a way to easily and totally remove the tweeter and the crossover so that all frequences go to the 8" spaekers? i don't know what the 8" can handle (maybe 7k tops?), but it'd be way better than just nothing above 5k or a hissy tweeter.
mm
