Replace BDDI with RC booster?

First i am a passive bass user,
a Fender Jazz with Nordstrand SE1,

And my chain now is
EHX Bassballs -> Punch Factory -> Boss CE-5 -> Boss GEB-7 -> EHX LPB1 -> Sansamp BDDI,

And now i want to find something to replace the sansamp and LPB1, and recently i get my EBS Multicomp, also my friend is asking for exchange the sansamp BDDI with his RC booster.

But, that is a guitar RC booster, is there much different with guitar RC booster with Bass RC booster?

So is it worth for the deal?

If yes, my chain will change to this

EHX BassBalls -> EBS Multicomp -> Boss CE-5 -> RC booster

Is it good for using RC booster to replace the sansamp + LPB1?
Since now i seldom use sansamp after i change my pickup.

im thinking of replacing my mxr DI with an rc booster for preamp and tone shaping. i'm using a sadowsky MS5. is it worth replacing it? or the MXR will be more flexible for me? i play r n' b and rock music. well, more of everything i should say. and i already have bassdriver and turbo rat for my dirt sound.

thanks for the info man. going to japan? i played there twice! i love japan!!! i was at osaka hilton and roppongi last time. that was long time ago!!!;)

The RC Booster isn't really a distortion or overdrive. While it may be possible to coax some clipping out of it, it's not really what it was designed for. The BB preamp is more of an od.

The SansAmp & RC Booster are 2 totally different animals. The RC doesn't have a DI, of course.

Now, the RC will definitely replace your LPB1 in spades! Plus you'll get 2 bands of shelving eq if you need it.

As to the difference between the Guitar & Bass versions of the RC, I originally used the guitar version. I ended up trading it for the bass version. I emailed Xotic - they told me that the bass version has more headroom and that the "treble" control frequency was lowered to a more usable band for bass.

The guitar RC worked, but it did start to clip, which isn't what I wanted. The bass RC is one of my favorite pedals. It is super-transparent and the eq centers are voiced really well, although I primarily just use it as a flat, clean boost.

Well if fidelity is a prime concern, then the Xotic RC Booster would be my pick. It is the most transparent of the devices you mention above. It's also the least flexible (no DI, amp emulation, distortion), but sometimes that's a good thing.

I feel that the RC is best suited for simply increasing volume without changing tone (with eq flat, naturally). It's a totally hi-fi piece of kit.

It's build quality is top-notch and the bass version looks killer! (not that aesthetics matter, really)

I definitely recommend trying to find the Bass version unless you like how the Guitar version breaks up.
