Replace tweeter with a 6" ?

Pardon my ignorance, but don't those brands have tweets as well. From memory the Accugroove has 2 tweets. IMO, there's your answer right there..............

After reviewing the Accugroove website, my bad on that. Bergantino make several well reviewed cabs with 6" mids in place of a tweet/horn, see them here:

I thought Dr. Bass did, but looking at their site, maybe not...thought I had played a 2-12 cab of theris that had a 6" mid in it, but my memory ain't what it sued to be.

The Schroeder mini twelve comes with and without the horn, and I know several players who are happy with the top end of the no-horn cab...that deosn't really address the 6" q though.

I still like my baby blue II 2x8 with 5" mid....

I love the sound of the horn with the 4th order crossover in my Avatar cab. It adds a lot of cut in the mix actually when I'm doing some slap stuff. You can also get some clank while retaining lows, which is appropriate in some situations. I use a Peavey 410TX with no tweeter at practice and I miss the horn.

...exactly!, BUT, will the crowd or listener even know/hear it? I can't in a mix/band situation. If I do, usally it's a very obnoxious & annoying screech...not anything at ALL...

Yep, Dave Burgess told me so when I helped out with his podcasts recently. I tried out an Epifani UL 2x12 today and it was very good. I'm looking forward to trying a Whappo Jnr.

Anyone know of any 10" wizzer cone speakers that come in 16 ohms. I think that I would love the eminence b102's because I really like the Delta's in my avatar cabs. The B102's only come in 8 ohms though.
