Replacement for r.cocco strings

Hey all, I have a VM Jazz '77, and right now I'm hooked on R. Cocco strings but sadly it is out of stock in my country. So I'm looking for a string that can produce a similar tone or a string that can achieve the tone below. I've done research on multiple threads but still feel like I'm lacking info. For now I'm considering La Bella RXs and HiBeams.

Well one thing is that the connection to Richard Coco and the founders of LaBella are family. I'd say that RX or the hard rocking stainless would be great. From DR the high beams might be floppy but if you want more fundimental I'd say try fat beams or if you want to go for hex core strings like the Labella or the RCoco then lo riders will feel better and have a tighter sounding e string. It definitely makes a difference on b strings but since you have a 4 string it's not as pronounced. I've played on everything except r coco. The Labella I've played were double ball strings for a headless bass. But anyway hopefully I've been helpful.

Yes you were helpful! thanks! I was actually considering the fatbeams but after hearing the sound samples from DR's webpage I don't think it's quite what I'm looking for, It's got bottom but it feels too loose for me.

Also, despite being a hex core those R Coccos are very flexible I would say, definitely one of the most flexible strings I've tried within the same gauge.

So from what you said I'd recommend the RX from LaBella. They will be close to what the RCoco strings were doing for you. I hear Dunlop super bright strings are supposed to be similar as well. Lower tension and more flexible type strings.

I've tried the super brights, they're relatively cheaper but died on me after just 1 month! I always wipe my bass down after a session and other strings lasted me awhile (especially these r.coccos, 6 months and they still have that top end brightness).

Here is a great string comparison video I found, you can get timestamps for each string in the comments. Notice in the slap demonstrations of the R.Coccos the G string seems to have a very bouncy sound as opposed to a flat twang.

I get what you mean. I've only played the regular Dunlop stainless. They did well for me. If I wanted a decent all around string I'd go for them. Another thing I might mention is that you might like Rotosound funkmaster strings. They are light gauge and flexy. I tried them but it didn't suit the bass I was trying them on. Not bad strings though. They remind me of high beams especially if they were light gauge high beams.
