Replacement Knob for 1980s Jazz Bass Special

I recently got a great deal on a used MIJ Jazz Bass Special from the mid-80s. The instrument is in great shape, but the upper section of the volume knob (the part with the "ridges" on it) is missing. See photos below. It does not seem like Fender made a whole lot of basses with this style of knob, so they may be hard to find. Anyone have any ideas about where to track one down?

That is the typical going price. $100 a knob give or take.
Fender Japan made a TON of instruments with these knobs. The problem is that they come apart and the cap and/or the grip part get lost. People would then replace them with something generic and throw them away. So, the issue is that a lot of them didn't survive, and the ones that did are mostly still on the instruments they were originally on.

It sounds like there is money to be made with a 3D printer. $50 a pop?

Wow, maybe I should consider selling my two intact knobs on eBay for $100 each and just replacing all three with a more common knob haha! Thanks for the info, I think I’ll probably just live with it as-is. Appreciate your quick and thorough responses!

One of the members here has a 3D printer and was offering to print for fellow members (IIRC this was 2~3 years ago.) Do a search for that thread, maybe you can locate him/her and get the parts you need printed.

EDIT: Did a quick search and found him. @Wanker_Joe
