replacement speakers for early 70 ampeg 810

what would you all recommend ? go back with the standard eminence refresh pack from fliptops or look at something like a neo 10 ? or anyone else have an opinion ? i can get peavey at dealer cost , but i dont know how well they will work in an ampeg cab .... also all of the peaveys will either be 8 or 4 ohm ... so what would you do ????

Find out what's in it now, then get back with us. If they're good, you will be better off reconing instead of replacing.

SVT 10 is a 32 ohm speaker. You'd have to replace them all.

I actually have six original, reconed Alnico SVT speakers sitting here if you need them.

Alnico speakers we generally recone. If they are ceramic, we just replace them with the current Eminence/Ampeg stock speakers.

I would recommend peavey Black widows the reasons are 1. they sound great and are very strudy and 2. they can be easily rebuilt by replacing the basket/cones assemblies for under 80 bucks. I aslo use them in my PA cabs with 1200 watt amps they are very hard to blow out.
