this makes no sense; the duncan vintage Js are single coils just like the stock fenders; in fact, except for slight differences in the wind, are pretty much identical.
there's certainly no inherent difference in noise between them.

You Can also try Carvin J99A alot of people here at TB owns the sb basses and they love those pickups and the tone they produce. Carvin sells em pretty cheap there very punchy and aggresive.
