Replacing MIM Jazz pots

I recently acquired a 04 MIM Jazz and I've heard that replacing the pots is the 1st upgrade that should be done to one of these basses. So i figure what the hell ill give it a shot.

So here is where you guys come in. I need advice for places where I could buy pots and which ones to get. I'm quite a noob on the whole electronics part of a bass so I'm trusting you guys to give me good advice on which ones to get.

Oh and if anyone knows a tutorial on how to replace the pots id love to see it. I do have a soldering gun, so i want need to pick up one of those from anywhere.

I hear this all the time on TB...changing pots..etc. IMO if the bass sounds fine leave it alone. I have had MIM's with stock pots that sounded better than MIA basses with CTS etc. Matter of fact i had both of my SXs i once owned swapped out for CTS pots and noticed no diff at all..one buzzed more than before it was changed? Yea...Yea i know alot of you will will jump on here and say ...NO! ya gotta change em or its not any good or will sound like a wet blanket on the pups well to you...if its good its good leave em alone. Ive owned enough MIMs to know what sounds good and what doesnt...so does bandmates,studios etc i have played in and around.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Pots give you warning when they are starting to go bad. Replace them then, until that happens, leave well enough alone and play your bass instead of worrying about unneeded modifications.

I'm about to try out Fender's No-load tone pot on my Jazz, just waiting for it to come in the mail.
