It brings the post to their attention, they will handle it as they see fit. The person you reported may have got a warning or a talken to but you never know.
The Moderators here are ALL great people so trust them and if you have a question about what happened send a private message to one and they will respond.

Maybe they already talked to the other person but I do not think they are obligated to tell you that. I think most of the mods work unpaid. I mean unless it is a direct, racial, religious and gender slur - they probably won't put it in priority. There is some banter to be expected and there will the OCD folks who want everything neat, the non believers because you did not post pictures, the search enforcers, the fact checkers and the grammar police. You have to just roll with those and many of them mean well. And the subscription fee is to support the site, not preferential treatment. The non tangible cred is earned on how helpful you are in terms of knowledge sharing. The best thing to do is to introduce yourself first and update your profile.

Stumbled upon the Thread in question and a Moderator has commented and locked the Thread for further reply at 8:32am my time, that is four hours ago. Sometimes they want to run things by others that may not be around now.
It is being taken care of, just relax and talk some Bass and Bass Accessories.

I would imagine, especially on a page with as much activity as this one, it would be a full time job to police all these forums. I did get a warning for trashing reliced guitars but I was new and didn’t realize that was against rules.

But I’ve never reported someone... snitches get stitches

1. We usually don’t respond to reports directly.
2. If another person is disciplined, you won’t know unless they say something. We respect the privacy of all members so we don’t discuss disciplinary actions.
3. Unless something is over the top in breaking the rules, we will usually let reports sit until a few mods have the chance to chime in, and then an action is taken.
4. When reports come in we either: reject if they don’t break the rules, edit the post, delete the post, issue a warning/infraction to the user, close the thread, or delete the thread. No report is just outright ignored.
5. Posts threads like this break Rule 5. In the future if you have an issue with moderation, please use the contact us link at the bottom of every page. As such, I’m closing this thread.
