Hi everyone!
This looks like the happening place for bass so here I am. I played music for a long time in churches on guitar/drums/bass always somewhere between no-clue/mediocre. I got interested in learning bass about 18 months ago, and then after 2 weeks of (bass) lessons I bought a keyboard to better help me learn theory, and then I pretty much didn't play bass again and have just been playing keyboard for that time.
Anyway for some reason I got interested in bass again last week and now I'm obsessing over it. It's surprising how much transfer there is from what I've picked up on keyboard. I'll keep working on some keyboard stuff but bass is the place right now so I thought I'd make an account and join in on the fun.
I would like to get out there and playing for people sometime in the future, and it's hard to imagine that happening on keyboard but for bass I think it's quite possible so we'll see what happens.
Here's a picture of me with my stuff, couple of cheap second hand guitars (yamaha guitar and Ibanez bass) found locally and a guitar modelling amp. Far from ideal but enough for me to have some fun on. Also two bass books I found somewhere that I'm working through. The red one is pretty simple but the blue one is full of licks of different genres and some of them are pretty tricky, I've worked through about 4 pages so far. I think the publisher is Aussie so I don't think many people have heard of them.
