resolder leads

can this be done if a lead on a pickup falls off? this won't damage the pickup, will it? sorry if this is a dumb question...

You mean if the wire breaks off from the pickup?
Soldering would be the traditional way to re-attach it.

yeah, that's what i meant. there's still solder on it, so i might have to get rid of it first, right? or do i just heat it back up and stick the wire back into the solder?

You can probably just reheat the old solder.

Be very careful not to get the bobbin to hot, you might melt it where you are trying to solder (that is if it's a plastic one). The coil wire could break if it's to hot as well.
