So, OK, I know I could be borrowing trouble in pursuing this, but I'm interested in your esteemed feedback...I picked up(for next to nothing)a Fernandez built 'Hiwatt' 4x12", typical MDF construction, 30"x30"x15", crap guitar drivers, no big whoop, but it looks cool, right? I'm thinking of pairing it with my Sound City 150B, which would be fitting. As I'm going to at least do the baffle over with Baltic ply(and swap out the mundane black grill cloth with salt'n'pepper)in addition to adding ply bracing, what would improve it as a bass cab(with appropriate bass friendly neo drivers)? Keep it as a 4x12, 4x10, 1x15, 2x15(diagonal), 1x18(yeah, I know there's a lot of 18" hating here)? The thought occurred to me of a Phil Jones inspired 8x8" even(in a 3/2/3 configuration, like those old Traynor cabs). All of these with proper ports, though I realize that the 15" depth is just barely usable as a bass cab. Or, just keep it as a guitar cab. Any bright ideas out there?
