Revamped Fender Website

Im blown away by these prices, Im a lefty so I never really pay too much attention to what fender is doing with prices, but almost 2k for a standard jazz...You can find some really cool vintage stuff for that...

It's funny because they have a problem with gibson forum members coming over and spamming their forum. Or atleast thats what was happening when I was there
They've been talking about revapming the site (drastically) for a while. They used to have a lot of 'visual noise' in the past... really
Edit: I like the old site better kinda cause you could click on a link that said "New basses for 'insert year' " and you could see what's new from fender

Means more sales. It's simple when they post an MSRP of 2000 but most places sell for 1200 people will assume great deal and get it!:scowl:
Now it looks like it's all about the money rather than the instruments. Of course it's always been about the money, but now it looks it.
So what does that mean? I mean, is there like a standard formula people use to get their actual sale prices from MSRP, only lightly varying here and there? Or do the actual prices come from the shopkeep's personal ideas about what will sell, what are good prices and whatnot?
If it's the first option, that would mean the actual prices go up along with the MRSP. If it's the second... Don't shop get their fill of this too? I mean sure, they can ask higher and higher prices, but they have to lose customers over this sort of thing. I for one am apalled at the pricehikes and it's a reason for me to not buy a (new) Fender anymore. I mean come on! 1100 and change for a Hoppus!? The hell is that! I remember they were like six or sevenhundred when they first came out, and I *still* thought them overpriced. And of course there are other examples. Like, every single other Fender bass ever. Ever.
It's this sort of thing that makes customers leave and never look back, however low the prices get in the future.

I don't understand the MSRP prices thing. MSRP doesn't mean diddly squat, does it?
Also, am I missing something, or is the Steve Bailey model not on the new website?
