Reverend Sentinel

Thank you. I did make this one but I don’t make and sell them. That would kill the fun of it for me. It is quite easy to make though. I got a headstock laminate (pao ferro) from stew Mac and some plastic binding. It’s then just a matter of measuring and cutting. It’s simply held in place with scotch double sided tape.

I asked this question a couple years ago and never got around to buying the case. I appreciate the protection racket suggestion however it doesn’t look like it’s available in the United States. Does anyone else have a good recommendation for a travel soft case that will snuggly fit the sentinel? The guitar cases I have around are all too small and there’s so much extra room in a standard bass case.

Former Sentinel owner here - I used a Serek case, fit like a glove and well protected.

I don't have a Sentinel, but I do have an early Watt prototype and a Squier Mustang. They each fit into my Gator ProGo guitar gig bags. I would guess the Sentinel would fit too.

Yes, I still.have mine..I don't gig it as much recently as I prefer my 34 inch scale basses for the music I'm currently playing. The Sentinel is still an awesome bass and makes a big.noise!! Was thinking of actually trading my alpine mist for the trans cherry. Much more rock n roll!!

Just curious, what type of music are you playing, for a 34" scale to be better than 30" ?

I play in 2 bands, one a function band, the other classic rock. While the Sentinel covers the variety of songs we play, I prefer my US jazz for the pop, funk and dance stuff where I need greater clarity in the notes. In the classic rock band, the Sentinel is v good for 'DC thumpers like Jailbreak or Shoot to Thrill but I prefer the 34 for Def Leppard, Heart,Journey etc where there are more intricate arrangements. We also play a couple of Crue songs in drop D and I find the tension of the strings better to play on a 34 inch. That's my experience, of what works best for me, others may differ.

Do you still play yours?

Thanks @sPiKi, that all makes sense to me. Sounds like you've got two great basses for different needs. I don't have a Sentinel but I have a 34" scale Reverend Raymond (they call it something else now, rather than Raymond). What a great sound and great feel. One thing I have to be careful of is that the forward pickup -- I think Reverend calls it the Jazz Bomb or something like that -- is extremely hot. If I dig in a little too hard and my finger, or a pick, or a string hits that pickup there's a big electrical pop. Other than that it's a beautiful bass -- it sure sounds great. I've got GHS Precision Flats on it.
