I think the strings were repeatedly and violently slammed against the frets. So no, not normal. They over-charge for shipping to deter returns. And they don’t reimburse shipping even when they ship damaged instruments. Lesson learned.What kind of bass is that? Is that normal fret wear? I have a bass that is almost a fretless it is so worn, but the frets don't look like that.
