Ribbon Controller

Ok, I figured this is the best place to ask about midi. I am fairly new to it. So I've got a midi capable device(Kaoss Pad, WH4, etc.) and I want to use a ribbon controller placed on my guitar/bass to control. So I've search for said controller and it looks like the only one I can find is 399. Don't want to spend that much, and it seems it is an easy thing to build. My question, I've got the circuit diagram(I am studying EE so reading it is no problem) but I need to know how to actually connect midi ports to CV hi and lo.

I believe that to do any DIY midi controllers, you're going to have to program a microcontroller. That may be no big deal for you, if you're in electrical engineering, but it has turned me off. I'm not sure I understand your question, do you want to convert CV to midi or the other way around?

The Doepfer Ribbon2Midi should be around $300, a reasonable price if DIY midi starts making your head spin (as it has mine). Good luck!

The PAia is cool, but if you look at the schematic, we have a cv out. I don't know where that leads. No worries, mini controller I can do.

The have a USB dev board.
Add an ADC and you have CV to USB.
Pick up Midi-Ox and use the API to translate the voltage to midi
